After all my research regarding Schofield Pass and how difficult this off-roading trail is I had to see it for myself and decided to hike it. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and bird watching and is best used from April until September.

The hike was beautiful. This area is breathtaking but you need to be aware of how dangerous this area is especially during run off or after rains.

Devils Punch Bowl Waterfall is a 2.2 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Carbondale, Colorado that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels. After watching many people jump off Devil's Punchbowl, I decided to hike up the back side (longer way) to the top. When we were there. There was no one jumping over the age of 30, except for moi! The Devil’s Punchbowl, a popular cliff jumping spot, is a section of large rocks where water pools along the Roaring Fork River near Independence Pass just past mile marker 50 on Independence Pass Road (HWY 82). It is moderate only because of elevation gain.
We watched some teenagers or twenty-somethings jump into the punch bowl from about 20-35 feet from a high ledge of rock.
It is a short walk down to the river to see the turbulence caused by the rock formations.
